Sheikh Usman was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario. He began his Quranic studies while still in high school and finished memorization of the Quran when he was 16. After this, he spent the next 7 years in the UK and South Africa, studying the traditional Islamic sciences including Arabic Morphology and Syntax, Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Hadith (prophetic narrations), and more.
Currently, he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Waterloo. He is actively involved in his local community, spending his time teaching at the Cambridge Muslim Society, volunteering with the University of Waterloo Muslim Student Association, and serving as a chaplain with the Muslim Chaplaincy of Waterloo.
